Toe Spacers, Printed to Your Toes

Toe spacers hold your toes where they would sit if you had never worn a shoe. That matters more than it sounds like it should, because most shoes spend years pressing your toes into the shape of the shoe instead of the shape of your foot.

A full set in place. Each spacer is printed for the gap it lives in.

Why your toes need the room

The squeeze is not a niche problem. A systematic review pooling nearly half a million people found hallux valgus, the drifted big toe most people call a bunion, in 23 percent of adults, and 30 percent of women. And it tracks footwear more than fate: a 1949 survey of 5,128 people who had never worn shoes found zero bunions, habitually barefoot kids grow measurably straighter big toes, and habitually barefoot adults have feet that are wider, especially across the toes.

Splay is one of the five capabilities we build everything around, because a big toe that points forward is the anchor of balance and push-off. The deep dive on why lives on our Foot Science page.

The one-size silicon problem

Most spacers on the market are silicon blanks: one shape for every gap, every toe, every foot. But your gaps are not identical, and neither are anyone else's. A generic blank pinches one gap, does nothing in the next, and adds enough bulk that it only really works while you sit on the couch. Spacers only help while you wear them, and the couch is not where your feet do their living.

Printed from your foot scan

Complete Prevolve toe spacer set: individual spacers in multiple sizes plus linked segments for the smaller gaps

The complete set. Width, height and length of every spacer come from your scan; the pinky and big toe gaps come in three sizes each.

We print each spacer to your toe dimensions and curvature from the same foot scan your cleats are built from. The material is soft TPU foam: squishy where it touches skin, but it will not tear the way silicon does, and a full set weighs about six grams.

The set is built for progression, not a single fixed stretch:

  • Two full sets in progressive sizes, plus a large single big toe spacer, so the splay can grow as your feet adapt.
  • Mix and match per gap. More room at the big toe, less at the pinky, whatever your feet actually need.
  • Slim enough to wear in shoes. Low profile enough for a normal shoe or a cleat, which is where the wear time that matters happens.
  • A holder to keep the whole set together in your bag.

Spacers work with training, not instead of it

Spacers hold the position. Training is what makes it yours.

Here is the honest part: a spacer positions your toes, but it does not strengthen the muscles that keep them there. That is why we treat spacers as one tool inside a foot training plan, never a standalone fix. Pair them with toe and foot work, give it months rather than days, and expect gradual change, not a miracle unboxing.

If you do not know where your feet stand, take the foot assessment and start at your level. Our foot strength level guide explains the ladder, and if your arches need the same kind of wake-up call, met pads are the sister tool.

The set is $95, printed from your scan. If you already have a scan on file with us, you are one click away; if not, the phone scan takes about two minutes.
